What Is An RDHAP?
A Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) is a dental professional with advanced training and certification to deliver hygiene services beyond traditional dental settings. RDHAPs are vital in serving underserved populations and individuals with limited access to care, providing mobile services in schools, nursing homes, and community health clinics. Additionally, they have the capability to establish and operate their own brick-and-mortar dental hygiene practices, further improving access to essential care in their communities.
